New Week- Bliss

Appreciate the little things in life. It’s funny because it’s the smallest things in life that make us the happiest, yet we always see past these “little things.” The smile of your children, the sound of the rain, the sound of pure silence. We don’t appreciate these things because we’re all too busy rushing through life. Slow it down, take a deep breath, and look at your surroundings. Realize that you’re blessed. Enjoy life and the little things that come along with it, because no everyone has this luxury. Yes, it’s a luxury- even if you don’t have fancy clothes and drive nice cars, or sometimes you struggle, it’s still considered luxury to some. There are people in different parts of the world who don’t get a moment of silence to themselves, who can’t enjoy the sound of the rain because it’s ruining their homes and their families, and people who don’t get to see their children smile anymore. We’re all dealt a different hand- so if you’ve got a good one, or even a decent one, take it and appreciate it.

“Only internal bliss is perpetual, nothing else is created to last.”

New Week- Positive Energy

Positive energy gets you a long way in the toughest situations. Crazy how your life could be falling apart, and you could be losing hope, but if you switch your attitude and find the strength and positivity it could all turn around. Now, sometimes it doesn’t turn around for the best, but I’m sure it’ll buy you a little more time. The negativity you project, and the sadness that comes along with it, makes situations seem worse, harder, and uglier. I’m not sure if you guys read the article about the LADWP worker that was electrocuted by 4,8000 volts, but that is an example of having positive energy. You could only imagine the injuries that this has caused, so I’m pleased to say that with the positivity of his family and friends in the hospital, he’s slowly regaining his strength. When things looked ugly, he knew that his family was right by his side, there for him no matter what the outcome. And going through hell these last couple of days, it’s with the positive energy around him that’s made him gather his strength to keep on fighting.

So today, if you’re not motivated, here’s a little push. This man almost lost his life by being electrocuted by THOUSANDS of volts, yet here he is, still fighting. What’s your excuse?

New Week- Change

So much is happening at one time. Everything is going by too fast and you’re frustrated because there’s nothing you can do about it. You can’t stop time and you can’t go back in time and change things. Well, that’s life. You get so caught up in your life and the people surrounding you that you forget you’re even working. Yeah, working. Life is like a real job. Always doing something to benefit you and your family/future family. It’s just all so crazy. Did you think as a little kid this is what your life would be like at your age? Cause I sure as hell didn’t. But you know what? It’s a good thing. I think the struggles, adventures, and lessons learned are what make us into who we wanted to be as we get older. Now, maybe some of you right now aren’t where you want to be. But, this is your test. To see how much you can handle. And after the storm, comes the calm. So have patience, have faith, and have fun. Life truly works in mysterious ways- And I’m not a religious person, but I believe that God has a plan for all of us. So let’s take it day by day, work hard for what we want, and be ready for change.

New Week- Goodbye Summer

Like most things, summer doesn’t last forever. Time to get up. Wake up and get your life going. The end of summer means the end of the year is near, which also means that a new year is approaching. Now, I don’t know about you, but I want to be at a different place in my life next year. And I don’t say that because my life isn’t good right now, because it is. I’m saying that because as the years pass, I want to see myself grow and reach the goals I’ve set for myself and my future. Summer is meant for cat naps on the beach and the night outs with your friends, but that shouldn’t have been an excuse to put your life on hold. And if you did, now’s your time to pick it up again and get to work. We are about to enter 2015… YEAH, 2015! Don’t you want better for yourself in the year 2015? Accomplish the goals you’ve set for 2014, and set some new ones. Finish the last quarter of 2014 right; strong, happy, and motivated. So say goodbye to summer, and say hello to fall.

New Week- Settling

Sad to think that as we get older the idea of love- being in love, finding love- is going to fade away. To think that one day you’ll make a pact with yourself that in x amount of years if you don’t find anyone, you’re going to settle for what you can get. The older we get and the more we find ourselves alone isn’t an excuse to settle. And not just settling for love, but for life itself- don’t settle for anything. Give life a chance and put yourself out there. Put yourself out there for the opportunities life has to offer specifically for you. Test the waters, and if you truly love yourself, jump in and find the love you deserve. This is our one chance at life- go for it, live it, love it, and know that you deserve it all. People say, “there is always something better,” but it’s up to you to decide when that better thing becomes the best thing. And in that moment you’ll know you didn’t settle for anything less than what you deserve- and that’s the best feeling.

New Week- Something Personal

Happy Monday, everyone! First off, I’d like to apologize for my absence from blogging for the last two weeks for I have been traveling- what an experience! Secondly, I’d like to dedicate this post to the single moms… Especially my sister. Many single moms feel like they’re not thought about, or that people aren’t there for them. But I’m here to tell you you’re wrong. The people who love you think about you every day and want to make sure you’re holding up okay. Because we, the people who love you, know that you have the hardest, most rewarding job in the world. Talk about motivation Monday! Motivation to get up every morning (especially 3 in the morning) and support the life of yourself and your child. Granted, times are hard and you wish you had someone there to help you. But you know what? All of the hard work you are doing right now, all of the struggling, the sadness, and stress you’re going through at this time in your life is all for something great- the greatness of your child’s future. You’re appreciated and acknowledged for your hard work. And one day, your child is going to see that his/her mother did everything in their power to give them the best life possible. First day of school, graduation day, their wedding day, all of their birthdays… It’s MOM who made it all possible. And at that moment, when your child realizes you’re their superhero, you’ll realize that all of your struggles will have been worth it. So stick through it to reach that point and know you’re not alone- with this new life you’ve brought into this world, you’ll never be alone again.

Katie, I love you, and I’m so proud of you. Brooklyn is such a lucky girl to have such a hard working mom like you. Smile, be happy, and love life so that she can grow up to be as beautiful as you. Thank you for making me such a lucky aunt, and most importantly, a lucky sister.

New Week- Different Lifestyle

Living a different lifestyle for a bit can change your view about everything. Put yourself in someone else’s shoes for a change. Not all places are the same. Some places don’t use the internet as much as others. Some places less is more, and the simple life is a happy life. Travel and explore. Get out of your comfort zone and try new things. It’s the experiences you come across that make you reflect and help you choose the life you truly want to live. Get out. Have fun. Live a different lifestyle.

New Week- Simplicity

We always search deep within our lives to find the things that make us happy when it’s really all so simple. We confuse situations and stress ourselves out over things that could all be so simple. Not all things are meant to be analyzed. Some things are meant to be lived in the moment and spontaneously. And other things shouldn’t take reviewing and convincing. If it feels wrong from the beginning, you probably shouldn’t do it. So stop convincing yourself that it could work or that one day it might be possible. Trust yourself. This is your one life to life, so live it freely and happily.

New Week- Positive People

Sometimes life seems unfair. But it’s not life that’s unfair, it’s about what you do with your life and who you surround yourself with. There are going to be people who come into your life and will either make you love it or hate you. But you’re the one who gets to pick and choose which ones stay. So, choose wisely. You deserve happiness just as much as any other person in this world. Surround yourself with positive energy and adventurous, fun, loving people. Because with people like this in your life, I guarantee life will play in your favor.

New Week- First Week of Summer

Granted, summer is supposed to be a “vacation” and a time to relax. But, let’s face reality… We’re not in high school anymore. This isn’t the little 3 month break you get between Junior and Senior year; this is real life. I’m not saying because you’ve entered adulthood that you can’t go out and have fun during summer. What I’m saying is have fun, but be responsible. You need to know how to balance the two. As sucky as it may be, “summer break” doesn’t come around once you’ve graduated and entered the real world. There are going to be times when the weather is absolutely perfect for the beach, but you have to go to work. And you know what? That’s okay. Because all of the hard work you’re putting into your life now is going to pay off. And then you won’t have to wish to have a day off to go to the beach; you’ll be able to take a week(s) off for vacation… Because you’ve earned it.

Just remember that summer doesn’t necessarily mean it’s time for fun for everyone. Because if you work hard, you’ll get “summer vacation” get-aways all year round.
