New Week- Someone Else

Do things for someone else.
Share your happiness with someone else.
Share your success with someone else.
Care for someone else.
Succeed for someone else.
Appreciate someone else.
Love someone else.

Strive for perfection in life, and for success, but do it with and for someone else. Having someone to share the big moments with, or having someone motivating you to accomplish something is more rewarding than just doing it for yourself. Granted, we should do and accomplish goals for ourselves, but on top of that we should be doing it for someone we love. Life is too short to celebrate alone. And by having “someone else,” I don’t mean a significant other; I mean, someone you love. Family. Friends. Anyone you could possibly love more than yourself, do it for that person.

You’re Okay.

Life isn’t “life” unless you’re living happy. Work is “work” if it’s not something you love. School isn’t education unless you’re really learning. We lose friends, and we gain new ones. Our families fight, and then they get over it. Life is a never ending cycle of ups and downs; or might I say downs and ups- because no matter what negative situation we’re faced with, a positive one follows. It’s always sunny the day after it rains. So cry it out, put up with the crap you’re facing right now because once this is over, something good is coming your way. And I promise, it will end eventually and that good is on its way moments later.

New Week- Top 3 Life Helpers

Through this life we are faced with challenges, rewards, and everything in between. We encounter good people, and not so good people. But when we do find these good people and these good influences, life seems to move a little smoothly. Top 3 things to make a life a little easier.

1. Good friends.

Fine. Have a significant other, and be happy, but don’t lose your friends. Granted, if you find the right person they’ll be more than you could ever need, but you will always need your friends. Guys need to talk to guys, and girls need to talk to their girls; it’s just how it works. And the good friends are the friends that are going to accept that you can’t spend all your time partying and getting crazy, because you’re busy trying to get your life started with someone you love- and these are the type of friends that are one call away from a vent, or a game night in the man cave. Find those friends, and keep them.

2. Positive vibes.

Positive vibes in the work place, at home, at school, everywhere you are. Always surround yourself with positive thoughts and good intentions. There are things and people in this life that feed off of negativity, don’t be that person. Be the person that always has something good to say, and can create a solution to any problem. Your life will be so much simpler and happier if you could bring positivity to it every day.

3. Honesty and Trust.

Yes, these two fall together. You need to be honest with yourself and those around you to have trust. Some might think this only goes for the way you treat people; no, this goes for you too. You need to be honest with yourself to trust the moves and decisions you make in life. Be true to yourself. If you know something isn’t going to work out, or if this something isn’t what you really want in life, don’t pretend like it is. Being honest with yourself will make you feel comfortable in the world around you, and allow you to trust your instincts and not fear the obstacles in life.

New Week- Good People

Appreciate the people who were there for you at your lowest. These are the people that are true to you. These are the people that want to see you succeed and aren’t going to give up on you just because you’ve hit a rough patch. The people who befriend you because of your success are just there for the, “I know that person!” Don’t be blind and ignore these people. We all want to think the best of people, but we also need to be realistic. In today’s world, everything is different- hello, catfish! Just be careful who you open up to. Friend people who you wouldn’t mind being compared to. Friend someone who brings out the good in you. Friend someone who makes you want to be a better person. These types of people are rare. So look careful, and choose wisely.

New Week- Keep it Movin’

Life is too beautiful to sit and dwell about mistakes we’ve made. Sure, they weren’t smart, but they happened. What are you going to do? You can’t go back in time and change what happened, but you can learn from it and move forward. No one is perfect, and honestly, thank God for that. How boring would life be if there were perfect people? It’s crazy to say, but it’s the mistakes we make and the experiences we encounter that make it life. Bad relationships, bad friendships, bad choices in our careers- these are all things that are going to shape us to who we want to be. So, when you’ve put yourself (yes, you did it to yourself) in a sh*tty situation, don’t think so negative about it. Because this might be something that was meant to happen, and something better is going to come of it. Be optimistic, live in the now, and appreciate the things you have and not the things you’ve lost.

Weekend Festivities!

So, like many of you, weekends are my only days to have some free time. So when the weekend comes around, I try to find something fun, something that’s going to get me out of the house and clear my head for a little. This last weekend, I took a stroll in Old Town Monrovia; such a great place for people of all ages – especially on a Friday night when the street fair/farmer’s market is going on!

When I go to old town Monrovia, I like to get some ice cream from Cold Stone’s, maybe catch a movie, or get a bite of pizza (Old Town Pizza is the best pizza, probably ever made!!!) If you go on a Friday when the street fair is happening, there are so many things for kids to do, as well as adults. There’s great food, jumpers, face paintings, and cool little stands where business’s sell a couple of items from their stores. I’m not trying to persuade you to go to old town, but if you happen to be in the area of Monrovia, CA I definitely recommend checking it out at least once in your life!

And if you’re just going on a regular week night, you should still take a look around. For adults, there are restaurants, bars, movies (as previously stated), and so much more. During the day, there’s even a local library! All in all, it’s a great place to be for those that want to get out and take a walk on the town.
