Newborn Photography

People think photography is so easy, because how hard can it be to click a button right? Wrong. It’s not just about clicking a button. You have to think about lighting. Location. Is the baby going to cry? Am I going to get lucky and have a sleeping newborn the whole time? Not likely. Sometimes it’s all really just a pain in the ass. And then there are times when you’re just like, “wow… I did that. I took that. Hell yeah!” Today I had one of those moments..

Please enjoy a sneak peek from today’s newborn session!

Maternity Photoshoot

Thank you to this amazing couple who let me capture this chapter in their lives as they await the arrival of their baby boy! Here are some of my favorite photos from the past weekends photoshoot. Check out the sidebar to the left later tonight to see all photos!

Mason Kaiden

I’ve been playing around with my camera a little more, and decided to upgrade. I’ve recently purchases a Canon EOS 30D… It’s great! So, with a new toy, I obviously had to go out and play with it. What did I do? BABY SHOOT! Here are some shots I did of Mason Kaiden.

World Cup Brazil 2014

Well, the last 4 years have flown by and it’s here- happy FIFA World Cup! Here is a sport that means so much to so many people. Whether you’re watching to root for your country and team, or whether you’re watching just for the experience… Enjoy it. Enjoy the moments of joy it brings to people and those around them. Because it’s not “just a game” for some people…. ITS THE FREAKIN WORLD CUP!

Happy games, and good luck!

Disney 24

Are you a Disneyland fanatic? Then you know that today, May 23, 2014, is Disneyland’s 24 hour park day! And if you aren’t… Well, now you know! The park opened this morning at 6:00 AM and will close 6:00 AM May 24, 2014. Me and my family went last year and the turn out is insane. Even at about midnight, the park is filled with Disneylanders. If you’re looking to actually have the park semi-empty, try staying till about 3 or 4 in the morning. Yeah, that crazy. But if you don’t mind waiting in lines, like any other day at Disneyland, then you should definitely stop by just to be a part of the experience! The opportunity to be at the park and watch the sun set AND rise only happens once a year, so take advantage of it!

Red Balloons for Ryan

I’d like to take a moment and dedicate this post to a story I read over the internet today. I’d like to not post about myself, or the images I’ve taken, or experiences I’ve encountered; But to share my prayers and share images of Ryan who was hit by a car and sent to heaven. I’m sure I speak for all of us out there when I say we are heartbroken to hear that such an adorable 3 year old was taken from his parents too soon.

(All photos are taken from Ryan’s mother’s instagram: @babyboybakery)

We are all so sorry to hear about their lose. With Mother’s Day being right around the corner, I could not image what Jacqui is feeling; to have her pride and joy taken from her so soon. No parent should have to go through this. Tomorrow is never promised, cherish the ones you love, and don’t take a minute for granted. Ryan will be missed- from just hearing the story and the images seen on the internet, Ryan has touched many hearts and is loved by people everywhere. Their family asks that we join them in remembering Ryan by reposting photos of Ryan and sharing them on your social networks. Hashtag #RedBalloonsForRyan and send words of encouragement to Ryan’s parents, for now is the time when they need all of the support and love they could have ever imagined. Let us pray and share the memories by photo… of Ryan Cruz Saldana. Rest in peace, Ryan – 5.2.2014

Bob Marley – Known Gallery

Today, April 12th 2014, I attended the last day of the Dennis Morris “Bob Marley: Giant” gallery on Fairfax at the Known Gallery. Dennis captured Bob’s personality so well in the photos he took, and the set up of the gallery was absolutely great. The space in the gallery was perfect, it allowed people to appreciate the art of Dennis’ photographs of Bob Marley. Below are some of the images I captured of Dennis Morris’ collection in the gallery.

And here is Dennis Morris himself in front of what he said, “the last photo I got to take of Bob.”

Weekend Festivities!

So, like many of you, weekends are my only days to have some free time. So when the weekend comes around, I try to find something fun, something that’s going to get me out of the house and clear my head for a little. This last weekend, I took a stroll in Old Town Monrovia; such a great place for people of all ages – especially on a Friday night when the street fair/farmer’s market is going on!

When I go to old town Monrovia, I like to get some ice cream from Cold Stone’s, maybe catch a movie, or get a bite of pizza (Old Town Pizza is the best pizza, probably ever made!!!) If you go on a Friday when the street fair is happening, there are so many things for kids to do, as well as adults. There’s great food, jumpers, face paintings, and cool little stands where business’s sell a couple of items from their stores. I’m not trying to persuade you to go to old town, but if you happen to be in the area of Monrovia, CA I definitely recommend checking it out at least once in your life!

And if you’re just going on a regular week night, you should still take a look around. For adults, there are restaurants, bars, movies (as previously stated), and so much more. During the day, there’s even a local library! All in all, it’s a great place to be for those that want to get out and take a walk on the town.
