Monday, monday, monday.

I read something today that I found very interesting.

You don’t hate Monday, you hate your job.

This is something I think not many people think of. Everyone hates that the weekend is over, like they didn’t get what they wanted done. But, I’m sorry to be so blunt, whose fault is that? Um, yours. You’re the one stopping yourself from enjoying your “free time.” And those who say “I would like to do things I want, but I have to work.” Again, it’s your fault you’re “work” isn’t something you love. If you don’t see yourself doing this job for the rest of your life, why are you there? Why are you wasting what precious time you have in this life somewhere you’re miserable? Yes, you may be getting your career figured out by going to school, but thankfully for us we live in a world of opportunity: internships and the power of marketing. Market what you do in your free time to make it your career so you can finally quit your job and solely focus on that one thing you love. Take an internship to whatever you plan on doing in the future, the opportunities are there, you’re just not looking hard enough. Be someone who’s Monday is their Friday. Hell, be someone who doesn’t even know what day of the week it is because life is just that good.

first step.

The biggest step you can take, is the first step. The first step is always the hardest when trying to get back into shape. Even if it’s for ten, fifteen minutes- exercise is exercise and the sooner you take that first step the easier it’s going to be to take the second, third, and all the other steps thereafter. I’ll be the first to admit that it took me weeks, even months to take that first step. I found excuses and was never motivated enough to even walk down the street. However, thankfully I have a passion that pushes me to explore (even if it’s down the street). The thing I love to do the most is what’s made me want to be a better, healthier me. I want to take my passion further and see what’s out there in the world that I’ve been missing hiding behind my excuses.

Purpose.

“Follow your passion, it will lead you to your purpose.” – Oprah Winfrey

Well said Oprah, you go girl. Damn this woman is brilliant, right? The purpose of your life is what you make it out to be. If you don’t want to work that 9-5 job every day, Monday thru Friday, then don’t. Plain and simple. Do what you love and what makes you happy. We are all given the right to choose our own happiness. We’re in a world of endless opportunities. Granted, it’s going to be a tough bumpy road, but anything is possible if you really believe it’s what you’re supposed to do. If you dream about, be about it. There is nothing in this world that you can’t do if you really want to do it. So I say, go for it. Take a chance. Live a little. Hell, live a lot.
